Dr. Emad Hussein is a leading independent arbitrator and mediator with over 20 years of experience practicing across the MENA region with a focus on the Gulf states in particular.

Dr. Hussein is a highly distinguished figure in the international dispute resolution community known for his vast experience in resolving complex disputes. He has served as chairperson, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in several ad hoc and institutionally administered arbitrations. His expertise involves disputes across the construction, real estate, shareholder, M&A, media, technology, supply chain management and commercial sectors.

Dr. Hussein is an Independent Arbitrator, a longstanding Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and on the ‘Approved Faculty List’ (AFL) for tutoring the International Arbitration Fellowship programs with the CIArb. He is an Accredited Mediator at the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) London, UK, the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) and the International Mediation Institute (IMI). Further, he is an empanelled mediator at the Abu Dhabi Global Market Arbitration Centre (ADGMAC), the Investors’ Dispute Settlement Centre (IDSC), the Saudi Centre for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), the SAGE Mediation Institute, the International Academy of Mediators (IAM) and the CAO (Compliance Advisory Ombudsman) at the World Bank.

Dr. Hussein is listed on the arbitrator rosters of the ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, DIAC, American Arbitration Association – International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA-ICDR), Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA), Saudi Centre for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) and the Libyan Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (LCICA).

He has published and spoken extensively on international arbitration and mediation. Dr. Hussein is also actively involved in an advisory capacity with various organizations to develop and conduct training programs in commercial law and international dispute resolution.
